jane kershner

Jane Kershner founded Ginsburg Kershner Associates in 1991. As Principal of the firm, Jane advises employers of various sizes on overall work life effectiveness strategies and on the design, implementation and measurement of innovative family programs including child care, elder care programs and policies, quality of life initiatives, flexible work arrangements and time off programs.  Jane not only oversees client and vendor relationships, but she ensures clients make intelligent business decisions, weighing all key trade-offs from risk management and financial to messaging and employee engagement.  In addition to supporting employers, Jane helps drive complex community and regional development initiatives to expand the availability of work and family services and child care programs.

Before starting Ginsburg Kershner, Jane held consulting positions with Deloitte and Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson).  At Watson Wyatt, she was the first national Work and Family practice leader.  She is a founding member of the National Work Family Alliance, member of Association of Work Life Professionals, and NAEYC.

Jane received her BA from Tufts University and her MBA from the Sloan School at MIT.

Patty Boas

Patty Boas joined Ginsburg Kershner in 1998 bringing a wealth of experience in project management, data analysis, market research and financial modeling. Patty works with clients to glean and communicate actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative research, employer demographic data and local market information. She also oversees the Ginsburg Kershner Annual Bay Area Child Care Benchmarking Study that reports on tuition, salary and supply trends. Patty spent 9 years serving as a board member of Palo Alto Community Child Care, a non-profit organization that manages 19 infant, toddler, preschool, and school-aged child care centers throughout the Palo Alto community.

Prior to joining Ginsburg Kershner Associates, Patty spent 10 years in Product Management at Warner-Lambert (now a Johnson & Johnson company) where she drove growth for global consumer brands such as Lubriderm, Benadryl and Schick Razors. 

Patty received her BA from Hamilton College and her MBA from Columbia University.

Cindy de la Peña

Cindy de la Pena O'Mara joined Ginsburg Kershner in 2013 bringing 30 years of experience in the field of child development.   Cindy's core competency is guiding the delivery of quality child care centers from approval to launch through effective project management and attention to detail.  Her work includes assessing potential sites for on-site or near-site centers, center design development, evaluating operational trade-offs, and ensuring regulatory compliance with local, state and national agencies.  Cindy currently serves as a board member on Californians for Quality Early Learning (CQEL), a non-profit organization advancing the profession of providing quality early learning education.  Cindy has served as an NAEYC accreditation validator and has presented at both the state and national conference level.  

Prior to joining Ginsburg Kershner Associates, Cindy spent 20 years as Senior Director of New Center Development and Vice President of Client Services at Childrens' Creative Learning Centers (acquired by KinderCare Education).   She was responsible for project management and client service for more than 30 ground-up and/or Tenant Improvement projects resulting in new centers.

Cindy received a B.A. from the California State University, San Jose and a Certificate in Child Development Center Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
